The Sensory Landscape of Reiki: Heat, Coolness, and the Mystery of Shared Sensations
In my Reiki practice, each session reveals the body’s unique way of processing energy. During a recent treatment, I experienced an intense warmth radiating from my client’s sacral and root areas, followed by a cooling sensation that seemed to ground her energy. The most surprising moment, however, came when a wavelike motion surged through me, like a boat navigating choppy waters—a sensation my client also felt. These sensory shifts, whether warmth, coolness, or movement, remind me that each healing journey is distinct, shaped by the body’s own wisdom. Scientific insights into the biofield and mirror neurons suggest that our bodies may truly connect on a deeper level during energy healing, sharing in the movement and flow of energy.
